Accessibility information

We’re proud to be an accessible queer venue. We hope you can find all the information you need to plan your visit here, but if you have any questions please email us on hello@campmargate.com and we’ll get back to you ASAP!

  • 1. There is pay and display parking on the street outside CAMP which runs from 9am to 6pm. Charges can be paid at the machine or on the RingGo app.

    2. Visitors can usually be dropped off right outside the entrance to CAMP by pulling into the on-street parking. The pavement is wide enough for unloading and for passers by to pass freely. There are not always free bays right outside and so you may have to find a space on the opposite side of the road.

    3. The nearest car park is Trinity Square car park, the postcode for the car park is CT9 1HR. It is a 12-minute walk to the venue.

    4. The nearest bus stop is outside St Pauls Church, which is a 2-minute walk to the venue.

    5. There are no stairs access the bar. The paving at the front of the venue is uneven (we're working on it!).

    6. Assistance dogs are welcome throughout the property, and well-behaved dogs are welcome too.

  • 1. The bar is mainly made of hard materials with a solid floor, though there is a doormat at the entrance. The space has been designed with soft materials to soundproof, which reduces any echo or loud sounds.

    2. The entrance is at street level.

    3. The entrance door is 95cm wide. There are bi-fold doors at the entrance which can be opened to increase the entrance width. The door is manually opened. Staff can aid with opening the doors if assistance is required.

  • 1. The bar has some natural lighting with fluorescent uplighters and halogen spotlights.

    2. The counter height is 1 metre 8cm; staff will assist those who need it and serve items that cannot be reached when necessary.

    3. All of the tables and chairs can be moved so that there is circulation space of 1.2m and the staff can assist with this when needed.

    4. We do not have braille menus but staff will verbally give any information needed so do ask. We have large print menus available, please ask staff.

    5. Straws are available on the bar.

    6. Tap water is available on the bar from a glass drinks dispenser with a tap.

    7. Soft drinks, no alcohol and low alcohol drinks are available. A limited range of bar snacks are available which include crisps and olives.

  • 1. There is one accessible toilet at CAMP, in the corridor to the left side of the bar.

    2. The accessible toilet is 2.25m x 1.54m. The main toilet is a left-hand transfer with a wall-fixed bar, there is a second pull-down bar to the right-hand side of the toilet.

    3. The toilets have no natural light but otherwise are lit with an overhead motion sensor light.

    4. There is a further toilet in the back room of the venue which is down two steps. This toilet has no natural light and is lit with an overhead motion sensor light.

  • 1. For events, sometimes there is limited seating. Please email us in advance on hello@campmargate.com if you require seating and we'll ensure we reserve space.

    2. There are security cameras inside the venue

    3. There is lots of natural light in the building, though it is also lit by spotlights and coloured LED lights at night.

    4. There is a range of seating available in the space, however the majority is padded benches and stools. We have a few chairs with backs, including two with arms, which will be reserved for those who need them.

    5. We do not currently have an induction loop.

    6. We have heaters and cooling fans to regulate the temperature in the space. Please let us know at the bar if we can make the space more comfortable for you.

    7. We try to reduce echo through sound proofing. We have a back room which can be used as a quiet space if requested. Please let staff know at the bar if you want us to open it up for you.
